tom newberry // co-founder
Coming from an income-restricted family as a kid, Tom Newberry founded Wild Trekk in 2023 to support kids who want to create a passion through archery.
Currently, Tom is a staff shooter for over 5 archery companies, continually learning and testing products to educate himself and others.
Not only has Tom been a competitive archery shooter for many years now, but he has dedicated significant time in the past few to continually gain knowledge in the archery community to build and create a platform for Wild Trekk.
jeremiah mcconnell // archery educator, colorado
Shooting archery for 28 years now and professionally for 20 years, Jeremiah McConnell brings an aray of experience and knowledge to Wild Trekk. Jeremiah’s extensive experience includes previously being the President of RMAA (Rocky Mountain Archery Association) and being a national trainer for S3DA. Along with his experience, Jeremiah has once been ranked top 4 in the world. He continues to have the drive to educated and support others in archery.
beth mcconnell // archery educator, colorado
Previously the NFAA Amateur female shooter of the year and shooting competitive archery for 11 years now, Beth has extensive expertise in archery. She currently holds the state record in Colorado in the field shoot and has won OPA. Beth emphasizes the importance of confidence and patience in archery, all while providing education to any kid.
gavin steele // archery educator, wyoming
Gavin has been shooting a bow and arrow since the age of two. He practices both disciplines of compound and traditional archery while pursuing competition and challenging public land hunts. His opportunities contributing to multiple publications through freelance ensures perspective and a keen attention to detail.
jr gregory // archery educator, colorado
JR refined his skills as bowhunter with daily range visits and some guidance from a friend in 1998. It didn’t take long to develop an undying passion for archery. He began shooting in 3D tournaments as a way to keep his hunting and shooting skills refined. Soon after, tournament shooting became another insatiable passion.
He then began paying it forward by providing lessons to children, young adults and adults. He is a USA Archery level 2 certified instructor, a staff shooter for JAX outdoor gear, as well as many other archery product manufacturers.
abbey smith // co-founder
Co-founding Wild Trekk, Abbey is our “behind the scenes” person. Becoming educated in archery a few years ago, she has found a passion alongside Tom Newberry to allow kids from income-restricted families the ability to become involved in archery.
Every person involved in Wild Trekk supports our vision and mission, allowing us to give opportunities to kids throughout many states.
